The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) has issued a new announcement about admissions. The notice relates to the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2026. IIT Bombay is set to run the last seat-allotment round for JAM 2026. This round is scheduled for July 6 and 7, 2026. Applicants may follow the latest notices through JOAPS at jam2026.iitb.ac.in. This round marks the close of the JAM 2026 admissions process. Those who did not receive a seat in prior allotment rounds have a final opportunity. It includes 89 postgraduate courses offered through 22 IITs. The offerings apply to the academic session 2026–27.

Key Details of the JAM 2026 Final Round

The final round follows completion of the Fourth Admission List. That list was released on June 27, 2026. JAM 2026 offers seats across science and allied disciplines at the IITs.

Essential information on the JAM 2026 last roundChecking JAM 2026 seat allotment using JOAPS?

To do this on the JOAPS platform, candidates should proceed as follows:

  1. Go to the official JAM 2026 website, jam2026.iitb.ac.in.
  2. Select the JOAPS sign-in option.
  3. Provide the enrolment ID along with the password.
  4. From the dashboard, view the seat-allotment result.
  5. If a seat has been assigned, save the offer letter.

Who Is Included in the Last Round?

Consideration is limited to JAM 2026 qualifiers who have completed registration on JOAPS. Entry is subject to the Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) rules set by the institute granting admission. Clearing JAM by itself neither assures admission nor confirms a seat.

What Comes Next After the Last Round?

The ultimate list of admitted candidates will be forwarded to the relevant admitting institutes. After that, institutes will start checking documents and carrying out fitness evaluation. Payment of the remaining fees will then be handled by the institute itself. Offer letters can be accessed on JOAPS starting July 9, 2026. This closing round takes place after the Fourth Admission List has been finalized. That fourth list came out on June 27, 2026. Through JAM 2026, IITs make seats available in science fields and related areas.

Next Steps for Applicants

  1. Sign in to JOAPS on July 6 and 7, 2026.
  2. On the dashboard, review the seat-allotment outcome.
  3. If you receive a seat, download the offer letter without delay.
  4. Prepare academic records in advance for verification by the institute.
  5. Watch your email for messages from the IIT handling admission.
