IIT Bombay (Indian Institute of Technology Bombay) has issued a new notification about admissions. The announcement relates to the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2026. The last seat-allotment round for JAM 2026 will be administered by IIT Bombay. It is scheduled for July 6 and 7, 2026. Applicants may follow the latest notices through JOAPS at jam2026.iitb.ac.in. This stage marks the final phase of the JAM 2026 admissions process. Those who did not receive a seat in prior allotment phases have a last opportunity here. It includes 89 postgraduate courses offered by 22 IITs. The offerings apply to the 2026–27 academic session.

Key Details of the JAM 2026 Final Round

This closing round takes place after the Fourth Admission List is finished. That list came out on June 27, 2026. JAM 2026 provides seats in science and related fields across the IITs.

How to Check the JAM 2026 Seat Allocation on JOAPS?

To see the result on JOAPS, applicants should do the following:

  1. Go to the JAM 2026 official site: jam2026.iitb.ac.in.
  2. Select the JOAPS sign-in option.
  3. Provide your enrolment ID along with your password.
  4. On the dashboard, view the seat-allotment result.
  5. If you receive a seat, save the offer letter.

Who Is Considered in the Final Round?

Consideration is limited to JAM 2026 qualifiers who have enrolled on JOAPS. Selection is subject to the admitting institute’s Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) requirements. Clearing JAM by itself does not ensure either admission or an assigned seat.

What Happens After the Final Round?

The concluding list of admitted candidates will be forwarded to the relevant admitting institutes. After that, institutes will start checking documents and conducting fitness evaluation. Payment of the remaining fees will then be handled by the institute. From July 9, 2026, JOAPS will host the offer letters.

Action Plan for Candidates

  1. Access JOAPS on July 6 and 7, 2026.
  2. From the dashboard, review your seat-allotment outcome.
  3. If a seat is assigned, obtain the offer letter without delay.
  4. Have your academic records prepared for verification at the institute.
  5. Watch your email for messages from the admitting IIT.
