Candidates can now download the final answer key PDF directly from the admission portal. This final answer key replaces the provisional one that was released earlier this month. The IAT 2026 was conducted on June 7, 2026, as a computer-based test (CBT). The exam had 60 questions in total, split evenly between biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics, with 15 questions from each subject. The objection period was open from June 9 to June 13, 2026. All objections raised by candidates were reviewed by the IISER Joint Admissions Committee, and any accepted corrections have now been included in the final answer key. This final answer key will be used to prepare the results. It is the official version for scoring. Candidates can compare their recorded answers with the official answer key to estimate their scores.The IAT 2026 result is expected to be announced soon. Objection Window and Fee Refund Policy

Candidates had to pay a non-refundable processing fee for each objection raised during the objection period.
However, the fee will be refunded only if the objection is accepted by the IISER review committee. If the objection is not accepted, the fee will not be returned, as stated in the official policy. All accepted changes have been made to the final answer key. Candidates can compare the provisional and final answer keys to see any changes, rekeys, or dropped questions. These changes may affect their final score.

What Happens After the IAT 2026 Result?

Once the IISER IAT 2026 result is announced, the online counseling and seat allocation process will start.
Qualified candidates need to register on iiseradmission.in and fill in their preferred institute and program. The seat allocation will be based on the candidate's rank, choices, and category reservations.

The Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) is:

1. ₹25,000 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates.
2. ₹12,500 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.

How to Calculate Scores Using the Final Answer Key?

Candidates should first log in to the candidate portal and download their IAT 2026 response sheet. Compare every recorded answer with the corresponding answer from the final answer key. Count the number of correct and incorrect answers separately. Apply the official IAT 2026 marking scheme to calculate your expected raw score. Unattempted questions will not have any negative marking. You can use this calculated score to estimate your likely rank based on previous years' trends. However, your official rank will only be available once the IAT 2026 result is officially announced.
