The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore has officially welcomed its newest cohort of the Five-Year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM), and the Batch of 2025-2030 is shaping up to be one of its most diverse yet. The institute's commitment to creating a vibrant and inclusive learning environment is evident in the batch's composition, which features a remarkable blend of students from different academic, social, and cultural backgrounds, including a contingent of international students.

The IPM program, the first of its kind in India, has inducted a total of 156 bright, young minds who have cleared one of the most competitive entrance exams for undergraduate management programs. The induction ceremony, held recently, marked the beginning of a transformative five-year journey for these students.

Diversity at a Glance

The IPM 2025-2030 batch is particularly notable for its rich diversity. The key highlights of the batch profile are as follows:

  • Global Representation: The batch includes five international students from countries like the UK, the USA, and Australia. Their presence will add a global perspective to classroom discussions and cultural interactions.
  • Academic Backgrounds: The students come from a wide range of academic streams, with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary learning. The batch comprises 72 students from a Commerce background, 67 from a Science background (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics), and the remaining from disciplines like Humanities, PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology), and other multidisciplinary fields.
  • Gender Balance: The batch consists of 57 female and 99 male students, indicating a healthy mix and showing the growing interest of female students in this unique management program.
  • Geographic Spread: The batch represents over 20 states and union territories, with the highest representation from Maharashtra (26), Uttar Pradesh (18), and the institute's home state, Madhya Pradesh (16). This pan-India diversity ensures a vibrant classroom experience enriched by varied linguistic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds.

The IPM: A Unique Learning Journey

IIM Indore's IPM is a dual-degree program that seamlessly integrates three years of undergraduate education with two years of postgraduate management education. The first three years are focused on building a strong foundation with courses in mathematics, statistics, economics, psychology, sociology, and humanities.

This multidisciplinary approach is designed to provide students with a holistic understanding of the world, preparing them for the rigorous management curriculum that follows.

In the last two years, the IPM students join the flagship Post Graduate Programme (PGP) batch and undergo the same curriculum, ensuring they receive the same world-class management education as their peers. The program also includes an international student exchange program and a mandatory social internship to inculcate leadership qualities and a sense of social responsibility.

Induction and the Road Ahead

During the induction ceremony, Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director of IIM Indore, addressed the new students. He urged them to cultivate a mindset of curiosity, humility, and self-awareness, stating, "Don't chase perfection; instead, strive for progress, and learn to walk your path with purpose and empathy." He emphasized the program's goal of nurturing versatile, well-rounded leaders who are not only academically sound but also socially conscious.

The induction program is the first step in a journey that promises to be both challenging and empowering. With its diverse batch and innovative curriculum, IIM Indore's IPM program is set to mold a new generation of leaders ready to make a significant impact in the world.
