IIM Ahmedabad Launches First Overseas Campus in Dubai

The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) is expanding its global footprint by opening its first overseas campus in Dubai on September 11, 2025. The new campus will initially offer a one-year MBA and executive education programs, catering to professionals and entrepreneurs in the Middle East. In a landmark move, the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) is set to inaugurate its first international campus in Dubai on September 11, 2025. This strategic expansion, a core part of the institute's global vision announced during its 60th convocation, aims to serve the growing educational needs of professionals and entrepreneurs in the Middle East and North Africa.

The new campus, located in Dubai International Academic City, will initially roll out a one-year MBA program tailored for working professionals, along with various executive education courses. The curriculum has been specifically designed to incorporate modern business insights with a strong focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and innovation, making it highly relevant to the regional business landscape.

This initiative follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that IIM-A signed with UAE authorities in April 2025. While the first phase will be in a temporary facility, the long-term plan is to transition to a permanent, purpose-built campus by 2029. This move by IIM-A mirrors the global expansion strategies of other premier Indian institutions, such as IIT Madras and IIT Delhi, which have already set up overseas campuses.
