Who Is Eligible for the One-Year Master’s Programmes?
The programmes are available only to candidates who have completed a four-year undergraduate programme. Candidates must hold a four-year undergraduate honours degree from a recognised Indian institution. Graduates of IGNOU’s own four-year undergraduate programmes are also eligible. Candidates who completed the traditional three-year Bachelor’s degree are not eligible for these one-year programmes. Three-year degree graduates can instead apply for IGNOU’s regular two-year Master’s programmes.
What Makes the New Programmes Unique?
The new programmes reduce the duration of the Master’s degree from two years to one year for eligible FYUP graduates. FYUP graduates may already have completed a research or honours component during the fourth year of their undergraduate programme.
