The exam will be held online in remote-proctored mode, and IBS will announce results — along with scholarship allotments — on the Monday immediately after each weekend's test cycle.

Exam slots and timing

Candidates pick one of two daily slots when applying:

• Slot 1: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
• Slot 2: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

How results work

Unlike a single fixed exam day, IBSAT 2026's eight-date format means results follow each weekend rather than the whole exam cycle. Candidates who test on a given Saturday or Sunday get their result — and scholarship status, where applicable — the following Monday.

Application process and fee

Candidates apply online and pay a fee of Rs 1,800. Applications must be submitted by the deadline attached to the specific test date chosen — for example, Test 1 and Test 2 both close on December 1, 2026, while Test 7 and Test 8 close on December 22, 2026.

Eligibility

Candidates need a bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks, and at least 15 years of formal education (a 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 pattern). English must have been the medium of instruction at graduation; candidates from other mediums may need to submit an alternative language-proficiency score.

Exam pattern

IBSAT is a 120-minute, computer-based test with 140 multiple-choice questions, carrying one mark for each correct answer and no negative marking. The section-wise split is Verbal Ability (50), Reading Comprehension (30), Quantitative Aptitude (30), and Data Adequacy/Sufficiency & Data Interpretation (30).

Scholarships

IBS is offering scholarships worth Rs 10 crore this cycle, open to candidates appearing for IBSAT as well as those applying with an existing CAT, NMAT by GMAC, XAT, or GMAT score. Candidates with these scores can submit their official scorecards on release for both admission and scholarship consideration. Scholarship decisions across all these test channels will be announced in January 2027.

Where IBSAT scores are accepted

IBSAT and the alternative test scores are accepted across IBS's nine campuses: Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Gurgaon, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Dehradun, and Jaipur.

What candidates should do now

• Decide which of the eight test dates and which slot suits them.
• Apply and pay the Rs 1,800 fee before that date's specific deadline.
• Candidates with an existing CAT/XAT/NMAT/GMAT score can submit it directly instead of taking IBSAT.
• Watch for results and scholarship status the Monday after the chosen weekend.
