Himachal Pradesh University Business School has opened applications for its MBA programme for the 2026–27 academic session, giving management aspirants a great opportunity to apply. The application process is currently underway, and interested candidates can submit their forms online until May 25, 2026.
The institute offers a two-year full-time MBA programme with a total intake of 120 seats, divided equally between subsidized and non-subsidized categories. This allows students to choose an option that aligns with their financial preferences while pursuing the same curriculum and academic environment.
To be eligible for admission, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks, while SC/ST candidates need a minimum of 45%. Students who are currently in their final year can also apply, provided they submit their final results during the later stages of the admission process.
The selection process at HPUBS is designed to evaluate candidates from multiple perspectives. It includes application rating, the HPU-MAT entrance test, group discussion (GD), and personal interview (PI). This ensures that students are assessed not just on academic knowledge, but also on communication skills, analytical thinking, and overall personality.
The HPU-MAT (Himachal Pradesh University Management Aptitude Test) is expected to be conducted in June 2026, with the exact exam date to be announced soon. The test will be held at multiple centres across Himachal Pradesh, including Shimla, Solan, Dharamshala, Hamirpur, Mandi, Una, and Palampur. It will cover key sections such as General Knowledge, English Language, Reasoning & Numerical Skills, and Quantitative Analysis. Notably, there is no negative marking, which can help reduce exam pressure for candidates.
Candidates who qualify in the entrance exam will be shortlisted for group discussion and personal interview rounds, scheduled in July 2026. Separate merit lists will be prepared for subsidized and non-subsidized categories. The final selection will be based on a combined evaluation of all stages.
The application fee varies depending on category and seat preference. General category candidates need to pay ₹1250 for a single category or ₹2000 for both, while SC/ST/EWS/PwD candidates are required to pay ₹700 or ₹1000 respectively.
With a structured admission process and limited seats, candidates are advised to apply early and prepare well for each stage of selection. HPUBS continues to be a preferred choice for MBA aspirants looking for a balanced and comprehensive management programme.
