Vacancies After Round 2

The 357 vacant seats represent a massive opportunity for candidates who were waitlisted or are looking for a branch upgrade. These vacancies include MD, MS, Diploma, and DNB seats.

  • Clinical Branch Vacancies: Significant openings remain in Anaesthesiology (31), General Surgery (30), Obstetrics & Gynaecology (27), and Orthopaedics (23).
  • Non-Clinical Branch Vacancies: Higher vacancies are seen in Physiology (32), Anatomy (29), and Community Medicine (25).

PwD Category Status

In addition to the general and quota seats, the PwD (Persons with Disabilities) vacancy list shows 51 vacant seats across various government medical colleges. These include 10 seats in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and 9 seats each in Anaesthesiology and General Surgery. If these remain unfilled, they may be converted as per state rules in the subsequent rounds.

What Aspirants Should Do Now?

With the Round 3 window opening, candidates are advised to re-evaluate their preferences based on these new numbers. The inclusion of 18 seats in General Medicine and 15 in Paediatrics is particularly noteworthy, as these are high-demand branches.

Candidates must ensure they complete their choice-filling within the stipulated time provided by ACPPGMEC. For a detailed guide on the branch-wise cut-offs for the new seats and the bond requirements in Gujarat medical colleges, follow Only Education News.
