The eagerly awaited Round 1 of NEET UG 2025 admissions in Gujarat continues to experience a delay as the document verification process for candidates who passed their Class 12 supplementary exams concludes today, July 29, 2025. This crucial step, along with recent rule amendments by the state government, has necessitated a revised schedule for the MBBS and BDS admission counselling for the upcoming academic year.

The Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Courses (ACPUGMEC), the authority responsible for medical and dental admissions in Gujarat, has been conducting this verification at designated help centres across the state.

Impact on Admission Schedule:

Originally, the Gujarat NEET UG counselling was anticipated to move swiftly into its seat allotment phase by the end of July. However, to ensure fair opportunities for all eligible medical aspirants, including those who cleared their Class 12 exams through supplementary attempts, a re-opened registration window was provided from July 23 to July 28. The document verification for these late applicants, including those from supplementary exams, culminates today.

This extended verification period directly impacts the timeline for the provisional merit list publication, choice filling, and subsequent seat allotment for Round 1. Aspirants can now expect these key phases to commence in early to mid-August 2025, pushing back the entire admission calendar.

Key Steps for Gujarat NEET UG Admissions:

Candidates who have successfully completed their online registration (which concluded on July 28) and the mandatory document verification today are now awaiting the release of the state merit list.

The typical sequence of events after verification includes:

  1. Publication of Provisional Merit List: ACPUGMEC will compile a comprehensive list of all verified candidates based on their NEET UG 2025 scores and state eligibility.
  2. Online Choice Filling & Locking: Eligible candidates will then be invited to fill and lock their preferred choices of medical and dental colleges and courses from the available seat matrix. This is a critical step that requires careful consideration.
  3. Seat Allotment Result: Based on merit, preferences, and seat availability, ACPUGMEC will declare the Round 1 seat allotment result.
  4. Fee Payment & Reporting: Allotted candidates will need to pay the requisite tuition fees online and physically report to their designated help centres for document submission and then to the allotted colleges for final admission formalities.

Important for Candidates:

Aspirants are strongly advised to keep all their original documents ready for seamless future steps. Essential documents include:

  • NEET UG 2025 Admit Card and Scorecard
  • Class 10th & 12th Marksheets and Certificates
  • Gujarat Domicile Certificate
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable - SC/ST/SEBC/EWS/PwD)
  • Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) Certificate (for SEBC candidates, if applicable)
  • School Leaving Certificate/Transfer Certificate
  • Aadhaar Card or other valid ID proof
  • Recent passport-size photographs

Conclusion:

Today marks the culmination of the document verification process for a significant cohort of Gujarat NEET UG aspirants, particularly those from supplementary exams. While this has led to a slight delay in the overall counselling schedule, it ensures inclusivity. Candidates should remain vigilant and regularly check the official ACPUGMEC website (www.medadmgujarat.org) for the imminent release of the state merit list and the detailed schedule for choice filling and seat allotment rounds.
