What Changed in Gujarat NEET UG Round 2?

One important development concerns Ananya College of Medicine & Research, Kalol, Gandhinagar. The NMC increased the college's MBBS intake by 50 seats, taking the total intake from 150 to 200. The published seat distribution lists 38 Government Quota, five Management Quota and seven NRI seats among the additional 50 seats. However, candidates should note that ACPUGMEC's September 10 notice states that the additional seats could be allotted in Round 2 only if the NMC's Letter of Permission (LOP) was received before the Round 2 allotment process began. Therefore, the availability of these additional seats in the actual allotment should be checked against the latest official seat matrix/allotment information.

Vacant Reserved and NRI Seats in Round 2

ACPUGMEC has also clarified the treatment of vacant reserved-category seats during the second round. After eligible candidates are allotted reserved seats, vacant seats can be transferred to the unreserved category. The official Round 2 information specifically mentions transfers such as:

  • NRI quota to Management quota
  • SC, ST, SEBC and EWS to General/Open category
  • PwD quota to the respective category
  • The process is carried out during the Round 2 allotment.

The committee has also stated that vacant NRI seats can be filled as Management quota seats with the applicable Management quota fee.

Original Documents Mandatory for Round 2 Verification

Candidates must be particularly careful about document verification in the second round. ACPUGMEC has stated that, from Round 2 onwards, Help Centre verification will be conducted only against original documents. DigiLocker documents and colour photocopies or printouts will not be accepted for verification.

Candidates must carry:

  • Original certificates and documents
  • One set of self-attested photocopies

Candidates who fail to produce the required original documents will not be permitted to proceed with document verification.

What Candidates Should Do Next?

  1. Download the revised provisional merit list applicable to them.
  2. Check their rank, category and eligibility information.
  3. Complete the Round 2 choice-filling process.
  4. Lock the final choices within the prescribed deadline.
  5. Check the latest seat matrix and Round 2 instructions before finalising preferences.
  6. Keep all original documents and self-attested photocopies ready for Help Centre verification.
  7. Complete tuition fee payment and reporting formalities if a seat is allotted.
  8. Candidates should continue checking the official ACPUGMEC portal for the Round 2 allotment result and subsequent admission instructions.
