Pharmacy students across the country are getting ready for the next big step in their academic journey. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced that the city intimation slip for the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) 2026 will be released on February 24, 2026. This document is very important because it tells you which city you need to travel to for your exam. If you are a pharmacy student planning to do your M.Pharm, you should keep your login details ready to check the official NBEMS portal this Tuesday.

What is the City Intimation Slip?

Many students confuse the city intimation slip with the actual admit card. However, they are two different things. The city slip is released first to help pharmacy students make travel and hotel arrangements if their exam center is far away.

  • Purpose: It only tells you the name of the city where your exam will happen.
  • Travel Planning: Since the exam is a national-level test, many students might have to travel to different cities. This slip gives you about 11 days to book your bus or train tickets.
  • Not for Entry: You cannot use this slip to enter the exam hall. For that, you will need the official admit card which comes out later.

Important Dates for GPAT 2026

The GPAT 2026 schedule is very tight, and students must follow every date carefully. Missing a deadline can mean losing a year of study.

The exam will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT). This means you will answer the questions on a computer screen at the center. There are 125 questions in total, and you have 3 hours to finish them. For every correct answer, you get 4 marks, but if you get an answer wrong, 1 mark is deducted.

How to Download the Slip

To get your slip on February 24, you need to follow these simple steps on the official website. Make sure you are using a computer or a laptop for a better experience, as the official registration page sometimes does not open well on mobile phones.

  1. Visit the official natboard.edu.in website.
  2. Look for the "GPAT 2026" tab under the examinations section.
  3. Click on the "Application Link" or "Candidate Login."
  4. Enter your Application Number and the password you created during registration.
  5. Once logged in, look for the button that says "Download City Intimation Slip."
  6. Save the PDF on your device and print a copy for your records.

Preparation Tips for Pharmacy Students

As the exam date of March 7 gets closer, pharmacy students should focus on revising their core subjects. The paper mainly covers Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, and Pharmacology. Since there is negative marking, it is better to skip a question if you are not sure of the answer. You can also check the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) website to see the list of colleges that accept these scores for admission and scholarships.

Conclusion

The release of the city slip is a clear sign that the GPAT 2026 is just around the corner. Every pharmacy student should download their slip as soon as it is available on February 24. This will give you peace of mind and help you focus on your final revision. Remember to check your application details one last time. If there is any huge error in your city allotment, you should contact the NBEMS helpdesk immediately through their official communication portal.
