The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued a final, urgent call to all postgraduate medical aspirants: the window for NEET PG 2025 All India Quota (AIQ) Round 1 choice filling and locking will close tonight, November 18, 2025. This is the absolute last opportunity for candidates to finalize their preferences for MD, MS, and PG Diploma seats across Central Universities, Deemed Universities, and the 50% AIQ seats in government medical colleges nationwide.

Aspirants must act immediately and ensure their chosen institutions and specialties are listed in strict order of preference on the official website, mcc.nic.in. The online portal is set to deactivate at 11:55 PM IST today. Any choices that are filled but not explicitly locked by the deadline will be locked automatically by the system once the time runs out. Failure to fill or lock choices will result in a candidate being excluded from the Round 1 allotment process.

Revised MCC AIQ Schedule and Next Steps

The deadline for choice submission follows an initial postponement caused by the National Medical Commission (NMC) revising the official seat matrix. This revision was a positive development for aspirants, as it led to the addition of 2,337 new PG medical seats, although it also involved the removal of 169 PG DNB seats in some institutions.

The revised schedule provides clarity on the immediate future of the counselling process:

EventRevised Date
Choice Filling and Locking DeadlineNovember 18, 2025
Seat Allotment Result DateNovember 20, 2025
Admission and Reporting PeriodNovember 21 to November 27, 2025

Candidates who secure an allotment on November 20 will have a short window, from November 21 to 27, to physically report to their designated college, complete their document verification, and finalize their admission.

Simultaneous State Counselling Status

While the AIQ counselling concludes its first round today, aspirants must also keep track of state quota admissions (for the remaining 50% seats), which operate independently but simultaneously:

  • Karnataka: The option entry process for Round 1 of Karnataka NEET PG Counselling has been scheduled to begin today, November 18, 2025, for Non-service candidates.
  • Uttar Pradesh (UP): The registration and fee payment for UP NEET PG Round 1 have concluded. Candidates are currently awaiting the release of the detailed counselling schedule, which is expected to be announced very soon by the UP DGME.
  • Maharashtra: The state's counselling authority has issued a notice stating that its admission process has been stopped until further notice, indicating potential delays or upcoming schedule revisions.

This overlap necessitates careful consideration of state-specific deadlines and the free exit/exit with forfeiture rules associated with accepting or rejecting seats across different counselling bodies. Aspirants must ensure their choices across all participating counselling processes are aligned with their final career goals.
