The Central Board of Secondary Education has declared the results of the Class 12 exams. A large number of students have passed the exam based on the figures revealed by the Central Board of Secondary Education. This means that some students have not been able to clear the examination. Students who have not cleared the exam have received an “essential repeat”.
Students who have received an “essential repeat” in the Board examination of the Central Board need to retake the exam since they have failed in loads of subjects.
Candidates who have an “essential repeat” depicted on the marksheet are required to retake the compartment examinations. In case of an essential repeat, the students don’t have the option to appear for only the subjects they have failed in but are required to take the entire exam. This means that they’ll have to reappear in the entire examination process in the following year.
Candidates who have obtained necessary repeats on their marksheets will be examined by the CBSE board officials. Additionally, in order to be eligible for the exams, students need to receive at least 33% in the major exams. They are required to gain these marks in both internal assessment and written exams.
What is 'Essential Repeat' in CBSE Class 12?
Students who have failed in more than two subjects in their Class 12 board exams will be considered for essential repeats. In the following academic year, these students are required to retake the entire test.
Important Features of the Essential Repeat:
- Eligibility: Students who failed two or more subjects come in this category.
- Post-Examination Requirement: All subjects must be retaken in the board exams of the following year.
- Mode of Reappearance: Subject to CBSE rules and guidelines, they may register as private students or as regular students through their schools.
- The similar practical marks will be taken into consideration, and students will only need to appear for the main exams, if a candidate received passing grades in the practicals but failed in the theory.
