There will be an entrance exam on June 18 and 19, 2026. The university is accepting applications from eligible candidates for various courses like engineering, management, languages, and social sciences. Each programme will have its own entrance exam based on its syllabus. Admission will be done purely on the basis of merit. The results are expected to be announced on June 30, 2026. Counselling for students who are admitted will be held from July 20 to July 31, 2026.

Undergraduate programmes require that students have completed class 12 with the necessary subjects relevant to the course they are applying for, from any recognised board. The marks needed may differ based on the programme and the student's category. Students who are from the SC/ST community and belong to Uttarakhand are eligible for a 50% discount on the total tuition and other fees for the course.
For postgraduate programmes, applicants must have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks in the relevant field. For SC/ST candidates, the minimum marks required are 45%. Depending on the type of postgraduate programme, additional subjects may be required, and some management programmes may also ask for work experience.

Admission to Doon University for 2026 involves a step-by-step application process.
- First, candidates need to register on the university's official website.
- During registration, they must provide their basic information and create a login ID.
- Next, after registration, applicants are required to enter their personal details, educational history, and choose the program they are applying for.
Then, they have to submit all necessary documents in the specified formats and within the given file size limits. They must upload a scanned photo and signature, each of which should be less than 500 KB. Scanned copies of educational documents such as mark sheets and passing certificates must be under 1024 KB. If a candidate belongs to the SC, ST, or OBC category, they can also upload their respective category certificate.
Doon University Entrance Test Format
The entrance test will last for 2 hours at Doon University. Separate question papers will be provided for each programme. The questions will be based on the syllabus of the respective course.
