The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has released the CSAB Supernumerary Round 2026 counselling schedule. The official notification is available on the CSAB website at csab.nic.in. The Supernumerary Round is an independent counselling process for filling supernumerary seats in four Union Territories. Seat allotment will be based on candidates' JEE Main 2026 ranks. Registration for the CSAB Supernumerary Round 2026 will begin on August 19, 2026, and continue until August 24, 2026.
Institutes Offering CSAB Supernumerary Seats
Three engineering institutes take part in the CSAB Supernumerary Round 2026. These seats are extra beyond regular JoSAA and CSAB Special intake. They exist to widen access for Union Territory students.

Who Can Apply for CSAB Supernumerary Round 2026?
Only eligible candidates belonging to the following Union Territories can participate:
- Andaman and Nicobar Islands
- Lakshadweep
- Daman and Diu
- Dadra and Nagar Haveli
- Candidates must also have a valid JEE Main 2026 rank.
Important Registration Rules
- Candidates must register afresh for the Supernumerary Round.
- Previous JoSAA or CSAB Special Round registrations cannot be carried forward.
- An applicant can make only one registration on the CSAB Supernumerary Round portal.
- Candidates must complete the registration and choice-filling process within the prescribed schedule.

CSAB Supernumerary Round 2026 Fee Details
There is no registration fee for participating in the CSAB Supernumerary Round 2026. However, candidates allotted seats will have to pay the Supernumerary Seat Acceptance Fee (SSAF) through the official portal. SSAF must be paid within the prescribed deadline. The applicable SSAF amount and payment instructions will be provided in the official brochure. Candidates who fail to pay the fee within the deadline may lose their allotted seat. Institute reporting will be completed after successful payment of the applicable SSAF.
