COMEDK 2026 TIE-BREAKING RULES : ALL STEPS EXPLAINED
The COMEDK tie-breaking process is officially known as the inter-se merit process and is applied after score normalisation in COMEDK UGET 2026.
- Each stage of the COMEDK 2026 inter-se merit process is used only if the previous step fails to break the tie between the candidates.
- Even though COMEDK has no negative marking, candidates with fewer incorrect answers receive higher rank priority during tie breaking.
- Candidates who guessed more questions incorrectly may lose rank advantage even after scoring the same total marks as another student.
- Mathematics carries the highest weight in the COMEDK 2026 tie-breaking process because it happens in both Step 2 and Step 3.
- The age criterion is rarely used in practice and acts as the final stage of the COMEDK inter-se merit process.
