Karnataka's engineering aspirants have their first big update of the counselling season. The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) rolled out the Round 1 seat allotment result for UGET 2026 today, July 28, on its official website, comedk.org. If you registered and filled your preferences, you can now log in with your application sequence number (or user ID) and password to see where you've landed.
The allotment isn't random — it's built around three things:
- Your filled preferences/choices
- Your COMEDK rank
- Seat availability in each college and category
Once you log in, you'll see:
- College allotted
- Branch/course
- Preference order number
- Seat category
- Total fee applicable
Both General Merit (GM) and Kalyana Karnataka Region (KKR) candidates are part of this round.
How to Check Your Allotment
- Visit comedk.org
- Click on the engineering login portal
- Log in with your application sequence no./user ID and password
- Click on the "Decision Making" tab
- Scroll down to the Round 1 allotment section
- Note your college, course, preference number, category, and fee
The Clock Is Ticking
Getting the seat is only half the job — you now need to decide what to do with it before the deadline.

Your Options After Allotment
Once you see your allotment, you have four choices:
- Accept — keep the seat as is
- Upgrade — stay in the running for a better option in later rounds
- Reject — decline the seat
- Withdraw — exit the counselling process entirely
If you're keeping the seat:
- Pay the counselling and tuition fees before the deadline
- Report to the allotted college with your fee receipt and original documents to complete admission formalities
Didn't get a seat this round, or hoping for something better? No need to panic — COMEDK counselling runs across four rounds in total, and Round 2 dates will be announced once Round 1 wraps up.
If You're Thinking of Surrendering Your Seat
Some candidates let go of their Round 1 seat hoping for something better in Round 2. If that's you:
- Log in to the portal at comedk.org
- Click the "Surrender" tab
- Fill out the online surrender form
- Download and print it
Documents required for surrender:
- Original allotment letter
- Original verification card
- Fee payment receipt (Rs 55,000) from Vijaya Bank
- Printed surrender form
Planning to join Round 2 afterward? Carry a Rs 5,000 demand draft along with your surrender form as well. Refunds for compliant surrender cases typically come through in the third or fourth week of August, provided the paperwork checks out.
