Candidates who are eligible can now go to the official website, https://www.comedk.org, and enter their preferred colleges and engineering branches for the mock seat allocation process. As per the official schedule, the mock choice-filling process began on July 11, 2026, and will be open until 4 PM on July 13, 2026. Only those whose documents have been verified and whose application status is marked as "Approved" are eligible to take part in this stage of the counseling. The mock choice filling is meant to help students understand how the seat allocation works and to evaluate their chances of admission based on their preferences and ranks. This mock allotment is just an example and allows students to make changes to their choices before the actual seat allocation rounds start.

There is no limit on the number of choices you can enter, and you can change your preferences multiple times during the choice filling period. The counseling authority has also warned students not to wait until the last minute to submit their choices, as there might be technical problems that stop them from completing the process on time. Those who don’t complete the choice filling in Round 1 will not be considered for the next rounds of COMEDK counseling.
