The National Testing Agency is expected to release the CMAT 2026 results by late evening on February 15. Candidates who appeared for the January 25 examination can download their official scorecard using their application number and date of birth. This update covers the percentile calculation, final answer key status, and the anticipated merit list for 1,300+ B-schools.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is poised to announce the results of the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2026 by late evening today, February 15. Following the successful conduct of the entrance test on January 25, nearly 53,453 candidates are awaiting their official scorecard to begin the next phase of their management education journey. As of this afternoon, the official CMAT portal has seen a massive surge in traffic, with officials working to finalize the merit list based on the verified responses. This year’s result is particularly significant as it marks a 15% drop in total applicants compared to the previous cycle, potentially altering the percentile dynamics for top-tier MBA programs across India.

Finalization of Merit List and Percentile Scores

The CMAT result preparation has entered its final validation stage following the resolution of challenges raised against the provisional answer key earlier this month. The NTA is expected to release the final answer key simultaneously with the individual scorecard results.

  • Score Calculation: Each correct response earns 4 marks, while a deduction of 1 mark is applied for every incorrect answer. The National Testing Agency has reiterated that no marks are deducted for unattempted questions, ensuring a transparent raw score calculation.
  • Percentile Mapping: Since the CMAT 2026 was conducted in a single shift, the NTA is using a direct formula to determine the percentile. This value represents the percentage of candidates who scored equal to or less than a specific test-taker, calculated up to seven decimal places.
  • Tie-Breaking Rule: In instances where multiple candidates obtain the same total score, the NTA will prioritize the older candidate to determine the higher rank. If the age remains identical, they are assigned the same merit position on the All India Merit List.

Accessing the Result and Scorecard Download

Once the link is activated, candidates must use their secure login credentials to retrieve their results. The NTA has strictly advised that no hard copies of the scorecard will be dispatched via post or email.

  • Download Steps: Candidates should visit the Public Examinations Management Platform and locate the "CMAT 2026 Result" tab. Entering the application number and date of birth will grant access to the personal dashboard.
  • Scorecard Details: Every scorecard will feature the candidate’s photograph, signature, sectional scores (Quantitative, Logical Reasoning, Language, General Awareness, and Innovation), and the overall All India Rank.
  • Validity Period: The 2026 scores are valid for the 2026-27 academic session only. Management aspirants are encouraged to save a PDF copy immediately, as the download link will only remain active for a limited duration.

Conclusion

As the mid-February window for the CMAT result announcement narrows today, the focus shifts toward the individual cut-offs of over 1,300 AICTE-approved institutions. Each candidate must now independently apply to their preferred colleges, as the NTA’s role concludes with the issuance of the scorecard. Premier institutes like JBIMS and Sydenham are expected to start their shortlisting within 48 hours of the result declaration. The final allotment result marks the transition from examination to the admission cycle, where group discussions and personal interviews will determine the final batch of 2026. Aspirants should continue monitoring the official NTA Notice Board for the live activation of the result link, expected between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM tonight.
