The National Testing Agency (NTA) is in the final stages of processing the scores for the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2026. Following the conclusion of the answer key challenge window on February 2, 2026, the agency is now validating the final responses to prepare the national merit list. Aspirants across the country are eagerly awaiting the result announcement, which is tentatively scheduled for the second week of February 2026. This examination serves as a primary gateway for admission to AICTE-approved management institutions for the upcoming academic cycle.
Accessing the Scorecard and Merit Data
Once the official announcement is made, candidates will be able to download their scorecards from the NTA's dedicated examination portal. The results will feature the raw scores obtained in five sections: Quantitative Techniques, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness, and Innovation & Entrepreneurship. The NTA will also release the All India merit list, which ranks candidates based on their total percentile, providing a clear picture of the competitive landscape for 2026 admissions.

Post-Result Admission Process
Following the announcement, participating B-schools will release their individual cutoff scores. Candidates must apply separately to institutes like JBIMS Mumbai or Great Lakes Chennai using their CMAT data. Each institute will then conduct its own selection process, which usually includes Group Discussions and Personal Interviews. Since the merit list is centrally generated, it ensures a fair comparison of students from different backgrounds.
| Score Range (Expected) | Percentile Bracket | Tier of Colleges |
| 340 - 360 | 99.9+ | Top Tier (JBIMS, PUMBA) |
| 280 - 320 | 95 - 98 | Mid Tier (KJ Somaiya, GIM) |
| 200 - 250 | 80 - 90 | Tier 2 & 3 Institutes |

The upcoming CMAT 2026 result announcement will mark a significant milestone for management aspirants. By checking their scores and merit rank on the NTA website, students can begin finalizing their applications to the 1300+ participating business schools. Maintaining a high percentile in this national exam remains a key requirement for securing a seat in the most reputed management programs in India.
