CBSE Private Candidate Form 2027 Not Yet Released: Here's What's Confirmed So Far
CBSE has not released the Private Candidate Form 2027 for Class 10 and Class 12 as of September 27, 2026. The board has only put out a notice on the List of Candidates (LOC) for the 2026–27 session so far; a separate notification for private candidates is still awaited. Last year, for comparison, the private candidate form opened on September 9, 2025.

LOC vs Private Candidate Form — Don't Confuse the Two
These are two separate CBSE processes running in the same window, and it's easy to mix them up:
- List of Candidates (LOC): Filed by schools, on behalf of their own regular students. This is already underway — the regular window runs September 24 to October 21, 2026, with a late-fee window (₹2,000 per candidate) open until October 30, 2026.
- Private Candidate Form: Filed directly by individual candidates who are not enrolled as regular students at a CBSE school — this is the form that has not yet opened, and the one this article is primarily about.
Eligibility Categories
Based on last cycle's categories, private candidates are expected to fall under one of these groups (CBSE will confirm the exact list in its 2027 notification):
- Essential Repeat candidates
- Students placed in Compartment
- Students applying for Improvement of Performance
