CAT 2026 Correction Window Not Yet Open: Dates Awaited, Editable Fields and How to Edit Your Form
IIM Indore has not yet announced the CAT 2026 application correction window. As of September 28, 2026, candidates who completed registration are waiting for the one-time edit facility on iimcat.ac.in. When Could the Correction Window Open?
There is no official date. Past cycles show the gap after registration closes varies. In 2022, the window ran from September 23 to September 26. In 2025 it ran from October 4 to October 7, at 5 PM, about two weeks after registration closed on September 20. Windows have typically stayed open for three to four days.
Some outlets expect the CAT 2026 window in the first week of October, but none of this is confirmed. Candidates should check iimcat.ac.in regularly.
Only candidates who submitted the form and paid the fee can use the facility.
What Can Be Edited in the CAT 2026 Form
Based on past cycles, candidates are expected to be able to update:
- Photograph: replace a blurred, wrongly sized or non-compliant photo.
- Signature: re-upload a clearer signature.
- Test city preferences: change the cities chosen. Candidates could choose up to five cities in priority order, and CAT 2026 will be held across roughly 170 cities.
Details such as name, date of birth, mobile number, primary email address and category are generally locked. IIM Indore will notify the exact list of editable fields in its notice, so treat the list above as an expectation.
The correction is a one-time opportunity, and no further changes are possible once it closes. It is free of charge.
How to Edit Your CAT 2026 Form Once the Window Opens
- Log in at iimcat.ac.in with your user ID and password.
- Go to the editable sections of the application form.
- Upload the revised photograph or signature, or change your city preferences.
- Review the changes carefully.
- Submit, then download and save the updated confirmation page.
Forgotten your user ID? Use the "Forgot User ID/Password" option on the portal and enter your registered email.
Photo and Signature Specifications
Prepare new files in advance if you need to replace either one. As reported for CAT 2026 [VERIFY against the CAT 2026 brochure]:
- Format: JPG or JPEG, up to 80 KB.
- Photograph: about 1200 × 1200 pixels, recent, with a plain white background.
- Signature: handwritten, in black ink, scanned (about 80 mm × 35 mm).
If a Locked Field Has an Error
Candidates who entered a wrong name, category or other locked detail should contact the CAT helpdesk through the official site. A resolution is not guaranteed. Registration closed on September 22, and IIM Indore reportedly does not run a late registration window, so filing a fresh application is not an option now.
Application Fee
The CAT 2026 fee is ₹2,700 for General, EWS and NC-OBC candidates and ₹1,350 for SC, ST and PwD candidates. The fee is non-refundable.
What Happens Next
After the correction window, the admit card is due on November 4, 2026. Check every printed entry, including name, category, slot and centre address, and report any mismatch to the helpdesk. The exam follows on November 29, 2026.
