In a significant and much-awaited announcement, the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) have extended the registration deadline for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 at https://iimcat.ac.in/. What was initially set to close on September 13 has now been extended by a week, giving management aspirants a final chance to complete their applications. The new and final deadline to register is September 20, 2025, at 5:00 PM (IST).

This decision was made to accommodate the large number of requests from students who had faced technical issues or were unable to complete their applications before the original deadline. With only a few days left in the extended window, aspirants who have not yet applied must act quickly to secure their eligibility for the exam. The CAT 2025 exam, conducted by IIM Kozhikode, is scheduled for November 30, 2025.

• Eligibility Check: A bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved categories). Final-year students are also eligible to apply.
• Required Documents: A recent passport-sized photograph (not older than six months) and a scanned signature. It is crucial to meet the specified dimensions and file size.
• Application Fee: ₹2,600 for General, EWS, and NC-OBC candidates, and ₹1,300 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates. The payment must be made online.
• Test City Preferences: Candidates can select up to six test cities in the application form.

What Happens Next?

For candidates who have successfully registered, the next step will be the application correction window, which is expected to open after the registration period closes. This facility allows a one-time opportunity to correct minor errors in the application, such as changing the photograph, signature, or test city preferences. After that, the admit cards will be released on November 5, 2025.
