For thousands of management aspirants across the country, the final days to register for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 have arrived. The registration window, which opened on August 1, will officially close on September 13, 2025, at 5:00 PM (IST). This is the last opportunity for eligible candidates to apply for the prestigious entrance exam, which is a mandatory requirement for admission to the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and numerous other leading business schools.

The exam, which is being conducted by IIM Kozhikode this year, is scheduled to take place on Sunday, November 30, 2025.

Key Details for a Smooth Application

Candidates are advised to complete their applications well before the final deadline to avoid any last-minute technical glitches. Here are the key details you must know:

  • Application Fee: The registration fee is ₹2,600 for General, EWS, and NC-OBC candidates, while a reduced fee of ₹1,300 applies to candidates from the SC, ST, and PwD categories.
  • Eligibility: To be eligible, candidates must have completed their graduation with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD candidates) or be in the final year of their bachelor's degree.
  • Required Documents: You will need to upload a recent passport-sized photograph and a scanned signature. Category certificates (SC/ST/EWS/OBC-NCL) and PwD certificates are also required if applicable.

Why CAT Matters

Beyond the IIMs, a valid CAT score is accepted by over 1,000 B-schools across India, including top institutions like FMS Delhi, SPJIMR Mumbai, MDI Gurgaon, and IITs offering management programs. The exam is structured to test a candidate's abilities in Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA).
