BITS Pilani is set to announce the BITSAT 2026 Iteration 8 result today, August 23, 2026, for admission to its first-degree programmes. This round is crucial for candidates on the BITSAT 2026 waiting list, who now have a fresh shot at securing a seat based on availability and their programme preferences.
BITS Pilani conducts this round to fill vacant seats left after earlier iterations, allotting candidates strictly on the basis of their choice-filling order, merit, and real-time seat availability. Candidates who receive an offer in this round will need to complete their fee payment by August 25 and report to their allotted campus by August 26.

What After BITSAT Iteration 8?
Candidates allotted a programme in this round should follow the admission instructions issued by BITS Pilani closely. The post-allotment process involves:
- Logging into the counselling portal to view the seat allotment.
- Clicking "Accept" to confirm the offer within the iteration's deadline.
- Paying the admission fee online before the fee-payment cut-off (August 25).
- Uploading or submitting original documents for verification as instructed.
- Reporting to the allotted BITS campus on the scheduled date (August 26) with all original documents for verification before admission is confirmed.
Missing the fee payment deadline will lead to cancellation of the allotted seat, so candidates are advised not to delay this step.
What Decides BITSAT 2026 Seat Allotment?
Seat allotment hinges on three key factors:
- The candidate's BITSAT score
- The order of preferences filled during counselling
- The real-time availability of seats in each iteration
Candidates cannot edit their preference order once an iteration's process is underway — the order submitted earlier continues to apply for Iteration 8 as well.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will I be guaranteed admission if I meet the BITSAT cutoff? Meeting the cutoff alone does not guarantee allotment. It does improve your chances for your preferred course and campus, but the final allotment also factors in preference order and seat availability — so your admission status will only be confirmed once the seat allotment is announced.
Q: Is there a direct admission scheme in BITSAT counselling? Yes. Students who are 12th standard board toppers are eligible for direct admission through BITSAT counselling without needing a BITSAT score, provided they meet the basic eligibility criteria.
Q: Where can I check the campus-wise BITSAT cutoff? Campus-wise cutoffs are released by BITS Pilani and can be checked at bitsadmission.com. Reviewing previous years' cutoffs is a good way to gauge the score range needed for your preferred campus and course.
Q: How are seats allotted in BITSAT counselling? Seats are allotted according to rank and preferences, with results announced iteration by iteration. Once allotted, candidates must confirm their admission within the given deadline.
Q: Is the counselling process centralised for all BITS campuses? Yes. There is no separate counselling process for individual BITS campuses — all candidates participate in a single, centralised counselling process and submit one list of preferences across campuses.
Candidates awaiting their Iteration 8 result are advised to keep the admission portal handy and complete each step — acceptance, fee payment, document upload, and campus reporting — well within the given deadlines to avoid losing their allotted seat.
