The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has commenced the registration and choice-filling process for the Stray Vacancy Round of the Bihar NEET UG 2025 counselling. This final round offers a crucial, last-chance opportunity for NEET-UG qualified aspirants to secure admission to the remaining 299 vacant seats across MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) and BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) courses in the state's government and private medical/dental colleges.
Aspirants who have yet to secure a seat in any previous counselling round must take immediate action, as the window for this final opportunity is very brief.
Critical Deadlines and Schedule
The timeline for the Stray Vacancy Round is extremely short, and strict adherence to the dates is mandatory:
| Particulars | Deadline |
|---|---|
| Online Registration, Payment, and Choice Filling/Locking | November 20, 2025 (11:59 PM) |
| Seat Allotment Result Date | November 25, 2025 |
| Admission and Reporting (To be announced) | Expected shortly after result |
The entire application process, including fresh registration (if applicable), payment of the required security deposit, and the selection of college and course preferences, must be completed online via the official BCECEB website. Candidates should note that the deadline of November 20 is the final cut-off for all submission processes.
Seat Vacancy Breakdown
The 299 vacant seats comprise both state quota and private/management quota seats from medical and dental colleges throughout Bihar. The majority of these vacancies are typically found in the Private Medical and Dental Colleges and often include seats under the Management and NRI Quotas.
- MBBS Seats: While government MBBS seats are largely filled, some residual vacancies may exist due to non-reporting or cancellations. The primary vacancies are expected to be in private medical colleges.
- BDS Seats: Dental seats in both government and private institutions usually account for a significant portion of the final vacancies.
The opening of the Stray Vacancy Round aims to ensure that all available medical and dental seats are utilized before the closure of the academic admission process for the 2025-26 session, preventing these valuable educational opportunities from going waste.
Eligibility and Participation Rules
Participation in the Stray Vacancy Round is governed by strict rules designed to target unallotted candidates:
- Who Can Apply: Only candidates who have qualified the NEET-UG 2025 examination and are eligible for Bihar State Counselling can register.
- Exclusion: Candidates who have already been allotted and have joined a seat (MBBS/BDS) in any previous round (either All India Quota or State Quota) are generally ineligible to participate in this final round. The aim is to prioritize candidates who are currently without a seat.
- Choice Locking: Aspirants must be extremely careful while filling their choices, prioritizing them based on preference and feasibility. Once the choices are locked, they cannot be altered.
Aspirants must check the official BCECEB notification for the specific details regarding the security deposit amount and the precise seat matrix for this round. For regular updates on the admission schedule and final reporting dates, follow Only Education News closely.
