The Bharathidasan University has extended the last date for postgraduate admissions for the 2026–27 academic session to May 11, 2026, offering relief to students who are yet to complete their applications. Candidates seeking admission to various PG programmes can apply online through the official portal — oms.bdu.ac.in.
This year, the university is inviting applications for 41 postgraduate programmes across multiple disciplines including arts, science, technology, and professional studies. The extension provides additional time, especially for final-year undergraduate students who are still awaiting results or were unable to apply earlier.
While the application deadline for 2-year PG programmes is May 11, admissions for courses such as BCA, B.Voc., and integrated programmes will remain open until 15 days after the announcement of Class 12 results (Tamil Nadu State Board or CBSE, whichever is later).
To be eligible for PG admissions, candidates must have completed 12 years of schooling (10+2) along with a 3-year undergraduate degree in a relevant field. Final-year students can also apply using their marks up to the 5th semester (or 2nd year for non-semester courses). However, their admission will be provisional and subject to successful completion of their degree.
The application process is fully online and user-friendly. Candidates are required to register on the portal, fill in personal and academic details, upload necessary documents, and pay the admission processing fee. The fee is ₹250 for SC/ST/SC-A candidates and ₹500 for all other categories, which can be paid through net banking, debit/credit card, or UPI.
Applicants must ensure that all details entered are accurate and complete, as any discrepancies may lead to rejection. Required documents include a recent passport-size photograph, mark sheets, and community certificates where applicable. The university has also advised candidates to carefully complete the payment process to avoid technical errors.
Admissions will be conducted based on merit, in accordance with the Tamil Nadu government’s reservation policy. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for further selection processes such as entrance examinations or interviews, depending on the programme.
Additionally, Bharathidasan University provides support through fee waivers and government scholarship schemes for eligible students, including those from reserved categories and candidates with disabilities.
With the deadline approaching, candidates are encouraged to apply at the earliest and regularly check the official website for updates regarding selection procedures and admission schedules.
