The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DME), Tamil Nadu (TN Health), has released the crucial tentative schedule for the Round 1 NEET PG 2025 Counselling, marking the official commencement of the admission process for Post Graduate (PG) Medical Degree and Diploma courses in the state. Aspirants are notified that the window for Online Registration, Fee Payment, and Choice Filling will open tomorrow, November 20, 2025, at 2:00 P.M.

This counselling phase covers a wide array of seats, including those in Government Medical Colleges, as well as the Government, Management (including Minority and NRI) quota seats in self-financing medical colleges, and the special quota seats in Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, for the 2025–2026 academic session.

Round 1 Schedule: Registration and Locking

Candidates must pay close attention to the tight timeline to ensure successful participation in the initial round of online allotment:

ProcessStart Date & TimeDeadline
Registration/Payment & Choice Filling & LockingNovember 20, 2025 (02:00 P.M.)November 24, 2025 (05:00 P.M.)
Processing of Seat AllotmentNovember 25, 2025-
Result DeclarationNovember 26, 2025-
Last Date for Joining-December 3, 2025 (05:00 P.M.)

This timeline confirms that candidates have a focused window of only five days to complete the essential pre-allotment steps, concluding on Monday, November 24th.

Mandatory Fees and Choice Filling Details

Aspirants need to make two distinct types of payments during the registration phase:

  1. Non-Refundable Registration Fee: ₹1,000/- is mandatory for participation in both Government Quota (GQ) and Management Quota (MQ) seats.
  2. Refundable Security Deposit: This deposit varies based on the quota selected:
    • Government Quota (Government Medical Colleges): ₹30,000/-
    • Government Quota (Self-Financing Colleges): ₹1,00,000/-
    • Management Quota (Self-Financing Colleges, including NRI): ₹2,00,000/-

Choice Filling Guidelines:

  • Candidates who have applied for both Government and Management Quotas will have the option to fill choices for both categories on a single application form.
  • Aspirants are strongly encouraged to analyze the seat matrix (which will be available on the official websites) and list all preferred courses and colleges in strict order of preference.
  • Choices can be edited any number of times before the deadline. If a candidate fails to lock their choices by 5:00 P.M. on November 24th, the system will automatically lock their last saved choices.

Post-Allotment Steps

Following the seat allotment result on November 26, successful candidates must:

  1. Pay Tuition Fee: The selected candidate must pay the required Tuition Fee online to download the Provisional Allotment Order. Aspirants are advised to ensure sufficient funds are available in their bank accounts beforehand.
  2. Reporting: The final and most critical step is to physically join the course at the concerned Medical College/Institution by the deadline of December 3, 2025. Failure to report with all ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES by the stipulated date and time will lead to the cancellation of the selection and admission.

Aspirants must constantly monitor the official websites for the latest updates, as the Selection Committee will not be contacting candidates individually. For regular updates on admission procedures and state counselling, follow Only Education News.
