AP PGECET 2026 Phase 1 Counselling Registration Begins; Check Last Date, Web Options and Seat Allotment

The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has opened the AP PGECET 2026 Phase 1 counselling registration process for candidates seeking admission to postgraduate engineering and pharmacy programmes in Andhra Pradesh. Eligible candidates can register and pay the applicable processing fee through the Common Admission Portal (CAP) from September 16 to September 21, 2026. The counselling process is being conducted for admissions to M.Tech, M.Pharmacy and Pharm.D programmes for the 2026-27 academic session. Candidates with valid AP PGECET 2026 ranks as well as eligible GATE and GPAT candidates can participate in the counselling process, subject to the applicable admission conditions. After registration, candidates will proceed through certificate verification and web-option entry. The AP PGECET 2026 web-option window will remain open from September 18 to September 24, followed by a separate option-change facility on September 25. The seat allotment result is scheduled for September 29, 2026. Candidates allotted seats will have to complete self-joining and report to the concerned college between September 30 and October 3, 2026.

AP PGECET 2026 Phase 1 Counselling: Key Dates

The web-option deadline is September 24, not September 21. Candidates therefore have additional time after the registration deadline to complete their choices, subject to successful registration and eligibility.

Who Can Participate in AP PGECET 2026 Counselling?

The counselling process is open to eligible candidates holding valid scores through the applicable admission routes.

These include:

• Candidates who qualified AP PGECET 2026.
• Eligible candidates with valid GATE scores seeking admission to relevant postgraduate engineering programmes.
• Eligible candidates with valid GPAT scores seeking admission to relevant pharmacy programmes.

GATE and GPAT candidates are given first preference for the applicable seats. Seats remaining after consideration of eligible GATE/GPAT candidates are then made available to AP PGECET-qualified candidates according to the applicable merit and counselling rules. Candidates must also satisfy the academic, local-status and other eligibility requirements prescribed for their chosen programme.

AP PGECET 2026 Counselling Fee

Candidates are required to pay the applicable processing fee during counselling registration. The exact category-wise counselling fee should be checked against the current counselling notification and payment page before publication. The AP PGECET examination's original application fee and the counselling processing fee are separate charges, so candidates should not confuse the two.

2. Select the AP PGECET 2026 counselling registration option.

Certificate verification is scheduled from September 17 to September 22, 2026. Candidates should follow the instructions displayed on the counselling portal regarding online/uploaded certificate verification and any help-line-centre requirements. Current counselling information confirms that candidates proceed to web-option entry after completing the required registration and verification formalities.

The web-option entry window will be available from September 18 to September 24, 2026. Candidates who complete the required registration and verification formalities can enter their preferred colleges and programmes during this period.

While filling web options, candidates should:

1. Check the participating institutions.
2. Review eligible specialisations.
3. Verify programme eligibility.
4. Arrange colleges and courses according to their actual preferences.
5. Add multiple suitable choices where appropriate.
6. Review the complete option list before submitting it.

The order of preferences can affect the outcome along with merit, category, eligibility and seat availability. Candidates should therefore avoid entering choices randomly.

AP PGECET 2026 Seat Allotment

The Phase 1 seat allotment result is scheduled for September 29, 2026. Candidates should log in to the counselling portal and check their allotment status after the result is published. If a seat is allotted, candidates should carefully read the allotment instructions and complete the required self-joining and college-reporting formalities within the prescribed period.

AP PGECET 2026 College Reporting

Candidates allotted seats through Phase 1 are scheduled to complete self-joining and report to their allotted colleges from September 30 to October 3, 2026. Candidates should carry the documents and admission records specified by the counselling authority and the allotted institution. The counselling schedule also indicates that classes are scheduled to commence from September 30, 2026.

AP PGECET 2026 Phase 1: Candidate Action Plan

Candidates should follow the counselling timeline carefully:

• September 16–21: Complete registration and processing-fee payment.
• September 17–22: Complete the prescribed certificate-verification process.
