Background: AP PGECET 2026 Exam and Result
AP PGECET 2026 was conducted by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, on behalf of APSCHE, in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode on April 28, 29 and 30, 2026. The result was declared on May 14, 2026, at cets.apsche.ap.gov.in. Candidates who qualified in that exam — or hold a valid GATE/GPAT score — are eligible to take part in this counselling round.
How Seats Are Allotted: GATE, GPAT and AP PGECET Merit
Seat allotment follows a two-tier priority:
- Candidates qualified in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) get first preference for admission to the relevant courses, based on their test scores.
- Seats that remain vacant after GATE/GPAT allotment are then offered to AP PGECET 2026 candidates, based on their merit rank.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must be Indian nationals.
- A relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification from an AICTE- or UGC-approved institution is required.
- The minimum qualifying marks are 50% for general candidates and 45% for reserved-category candidates.
Seat Reservation for Local and Non-Local Candidates
Per the official notification, 85% of seats in each course are reserved for local candidates of Andhra Pradesh, while the remaining 15% are unreserved seats open to both local and non-local eligible candidates.
