The National Medical Commission (NMC) has given its approval for the addition of 180 new MBBS seats in Andhra Pradesh. Check details at https://neetcounselling2025.in/andhra-pradesh-neet-counselling/. This update significantly increases the number of available seats for NEET-UG 2025 candidates in the state. These new seats are being added to three colleges as follows:

  • Government Medical College, Ongole: 30 new seats
  • Santhiram Medical College, Nandyala: 50 new seats
  • Parameshwaramangalam: 100 new seats

Round 1 Free Exit Window is Open

The "free exit" window for Round 1 of the AP NEET Counselling is currently open and will remain so until September 21, 2025. This is a key opportunity for candidates who have been allotted a seat in Round 1 but no longer wish to join that college. By submitting a formal request to the principal of the allotted college, they can vacate their seat.

Aspirants should be aware of the rules regarding this process. Those who choose to use the free exit option will not be eligible for the subsequent rounds of counselling under the Competent Authority Quota. However, they may be considered for the management quota in Phase 1 if seats are available. Vacated seats will be added to the seat matrix for Round 2 of MBBS admissions, giving other candidates a chance to secure a spot.

Candidates who do not utilize this free exit option will not be allowed to resign their seats after the deadline, and their admission will be considered final until the entire admission process is concluded.
