If you cleared AP ICET back in May and have been refreshing the results page ever since hoping for a counselling update — you're not alone. It's been months since the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) declared the AP ICET 2026 results on May 16, and qualified candidates are still waiting for the official word on when counselling will actually begin.

The exam itself was conducted on May 2, and since then, anyone who cleared it has been in a bit of a holding pattern. APSCHE hasn't released the detailed counselling schedule yet, but once it does, the process will open up web-based admissions for MBA and MCA programs across the state. The best thing you can do right now is keep an eye on the official portal, icet-sche.aptonline.in, since that's where the notification will drop the moment it's ready.

AP ICET Counselling 2026 — Quick Overview

Before we get into the process itself, here's a snapshot of the essentials:

Processing Fee (Reserved)₹600

How the Counselling Process Will Actually Work

Once the schedule is out, here's roughly what candidates can expect to go through, step by step:

  • Register and pay the fee — You'll need to create your profile on the official portal and pay the non-refundable processing fee through credit card, debit card, or net banking.
  • Get your documents verified — Most of this happens online, but if there's a discrepancy in your uploads, or if you're claiming a special category like NCC, CAP, Sports, or PH, you'll need to physically visit a designated Help Line Centre (HLC) for verification.
  • Enter your web options — This is where you log in and list out your preferred colleges and courses, ranked in the order you actually want them.
  • Review and freeze your choices — You get a window to go back and tweak your preferences before the final freezing deadline hits, so don't rush this step.
  • Wait for seat allotment — Seats get allocated based on your merit rank, category, local area status, and the choices you locked in.
  • Report to your college — Once allotted, you'll complete a self-reporting step online, followed by physically reporting to the college with your original documents.

It's a fairly standard flow if you've been through state-level counselling before, but each step has its own nuances worth paying attention to — especially the document verification part, which trips up more candidates than you'd expect.

What's Being Discussed in the Live Updates So Far

Even though the official dates haven't dropped, APSCHE and various sources have been sharing bits of useful information candidates should know while they wait. Here's what's come up recently:

How the cutoff gets decided. The AP ICET cutoff isn't some arbitrary number — it's shaped by a handful of real factors:

  • Total candidates who appeared for the exam
  • Total number of seats available across colleges and courses
  • How tough (or easy) that year's question paper was
  • Reservation policy as laid out by the government
  • Trends from previous years' cutoffs

Expected cutoff range for 2026. Based on early estimates, the top 1–10 ranks are expected to fall in the 198–171 marks range, while ranks 31–70 are likely to sit somewhere around 170–161. The numbers taper off gradually as you move down the rank bands.

If you moved from Telangana. Candidates who relocated from Telangana within seven years after June 2, 2014, need to upload a Local Status Certificate to be counted as a local candidate during counselling. This one's easy to miss if you're not paying close attention to the document checklist.

Private candidates need a Residence Certificate. If you didn't study through a regular institution, a school-based proof of residence obviously won't work for you. Instead, you'll need a Residence Certificate from a competent authority confirming you've been staying in Andhra Pradesh.

Income or ration card is mandatory. Somewhat straightforward, but easy to overlook — you'll need to upload a recent, valid Income Certificate or Ration Card that clearly bears your name as part of the required document set.

Got flagged during verification? Don't panic. If a verification officer flags an issue with something you've uploaded, the portal will simply prompt you to re-upload the corrected version. Just make sure the new file follows the specified format so it doesn't get flagged again.

Special category candidates, take note. If you fall under a special category, you won't be able to complete verification entirely online. You'll need to physically show up at a designated centre to get your documents checked before you can move ahead with registration.

Commonly Asked Questions

Has the AP ICET 2026 counselling schedule been announced? Not yet. Both Phase 1 and the final phase dates are still pending. APSCHE will publish the full schedule — covering registration, web options entry, and seat allotment — on icet-sche.aptonline.in as soon as it's finalized.

Is there a counselling fee to pay? Yes. Candidates need to pay this fee before their document verification takes place.

CategoryCounselling Fee
OC/BC₹1,200
SC/ST/PH₹600

Which colleges accept AP ICET scores? A number of well-known institutions across Andhra Pradesh consider AP ICET scores for admission, including:

  • Acharya Nagarjuna University College
  • Andhra University Colleges of Arts and Commerce
  • Dr B R Ambedkar University
  • Sri Krishnadevaraya University
  • Yogi Vemana University
  • Vikrama Simhapuri University
  • Dr. Abdul Haq Urdu University
  • Krishna University
  • Adikavi Nannaya University Campus
  • S V U College of Commerce, Management and Computer Science

What Should You Do While You Wait?

Honestly, there's not much you can do except stay prepared. Use this time to get your documents in order — Income Certificate, Local Status or Residence Certificate (if applicable), and category proof — so you're not scrambling once the counselling window actually opens. Keep icet-sche.aptonline.in bookmarked, and check it regularly. Given how long the wait has already been, it's likely APSCHE will move fairly quickly once the notification does go live, so being ready in advance will genuinely work in your favour.

We'll keep this page updated as soon as APSCHE announces the official AP ICET counselling dates for 2026.
