AILET 2027 Application Form: Common Mistakes That Could Cost You Your Registration

Registration for AILET 2027, the entrance test for admission to National Law University (NLU) Delhi's BA LLB (Hons.) and LLM programmes, is open at nationallawuniversitydelhi.in. The window opened August 7, 2026, and closes November 10, 2026.

NLU Delhi does not accept CLAT scores for its programmes — AILET is the only route to admission here, which makes a clean, error-free application especially important. Given the volume of applications the university receives each year, even a small entry error can create problems at the verification stage.

AILET 2027 key dates

Common mistakes to avoid while filling the AILET 2027 form

• Entering wrong personal details — Name, date of birth, and address must match your official documents exactly; mismatches can cause verification issues later.
• Choosing the wrong course — BA LLB and LLM have different eligibility criteria and application flows; selecting the wrong one can derail your application.
• Uploading documents in incorrect size or format — The portal specifies exact size and format requirements for photographs and signatures; check these before uploading rather than after a rejection.
• Not uploading category and reservation details — Candidates claiming SC/ST/OBC/PwD status or fee exemptions must upload the relevant certificates; skipping this can affect both eligibility verification and fee exemption claims.
• Entering an invalid email or phone number — All admit card, correction window, and result communication goes through these details.
• Skipping fee payment confirmation — Always confirm the payment went through and save the receipt; an unconfirmed payment can leave your application incomplete.
• Not rechecking the form before final submission — Once submitted, most fields cannot be changed except during the limited correction window.
• Waiting until the last date to apply — Server load increases sharply close to the deadline, raising the risk of a failed submission with no time to recover.

AILET 2027 eligibility criteria

• General category: Minimum 45% marks in Class 12 (or equivalent).
• OBC category: Minimum 42% marks in Class 12.
• SC/ST/PwD categories: Minimum 40% marks in Class 12.
• Age limit: None.

Candidates should confirm their category-wise eligibility before selecting a course on the application form — this directly addresses one of the listed mistakes above.

AILET 2027 registration fee and exemptions

The registration fee, once paid, is non-refundable. Eligible SC/ST and women candidates in the BPL category are exempted from the online application fee — candidates claiming this exemption must upload the relevant category and income proof, which is exactly where the "not uploading category and reservation details" mistake tends to cause the most problems.

[VERIFY] — Whether Foreign Nationals/OCI/PIO applicants for AILET 2027 have a separate, later application deadline (as was the case in the AILET 2026 cycle) has not been confirmed in current reporting. Candidates in this category should check the official notification directly.

Why AILET matters for NLU Delhi admission

NLU Delhi is not part of the Consortium of National Law Universities and does not accept scores from CLAT or any other law entrance exam for admission to its BA LLB or LLM programmes. AILET is therefore the sole gateway into the university — a rejected or incomplete application has no alternate path within NLU Delhi for that admission cycle.
