The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has released a crucial update for M.Sc. Nursing aspirants. As per the official schedule, the declaration of the vacant seat position after the completion of Round 1, along with the much-anticipated Round 2 seat allocation result, has been made today, August 8, 2025.

This is a significant day for candidates who were not allotted a seat in the first round or those who opted for upgradation. The announcement provides clarity on the available seats and the new placements for the August 2025 academic session. All eligible candidates can now check their status on the official AIIMS website, www.aiimsexams.ac.in.

Understanding the Round 2 Allotment

The seat allocation for the second round is based on the choices submitted by candidates during the pre-seat allocation phase. It is important to note that the choices selected in Round 1 are considered for Round 2, and a fresh window for choice-filling is not provided. The allocation is made based on merit, availability of seats, and the preferences locked by the candidates.

The vacant seat position, which was announced today, provides a clear picture of the seats that were not filled in Round 1, either because candidates did not accept the allotted seat or due to "Free Exit" options. This information is a valuable resource for candidates to understand the landscape of seat availability.

Post-Allotment Process and Key Dates

For candidates who have been successfully allotted a seat in Round 2, the next steps are critical and time-bound. The schedule for the post-allotment process is as follows:

  • Online Acceptance of Allocated Seat: Candidates must log in to the official portal to accept the newly allotted seat. This process is scheduled from August 11 to August 14, 2025, until 5:00 PM.
  • Physical Reporting and Document Submission: After accepting the seat online, candidates must physically report to their respective AIIMS campus for the submission of documents and security deposits. This must also be completed by August 14, 2025, until 5:00 PM.

Mandatory Documents for Verification

During the physical reporting, candidates must carry a list of original documents for verification, along with a set of self-attested photocopies. The essential documents include:

  • NEET UG Scorecard and Admit Card (though M.Sc. Nursing has its own entrance exam, the general list for medical aspirants includes these, so it's a good practice to be ready)
  • AIIMS M.Sc. Nursing Entrance Examination 2025 Result Notification
  • Class 10 and 12 mark sheets and certificates
  • B.Sc. Nursing mark sheets and degree/provisional certificate
  • Registration Certificate with a State Nursing Council
  • Proof of recognition of the college by the Indian Nursing Council (INC)
  • Category certificate (if applicable) and other relevant certificates

Candidates who have been allotted a seat are strongly advised to act swiftly, as missing the deadline for online acceptance and physical reporting will lead to the cancellation of their seat, and they will become ineligible for further rounds.
