The Bar Council of India (BCI) is anticipated to release the official notification for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) 20 (XX) 2025. This crucial notification will set the stage for one of the most important exams in a lawyer’s career, outlining the key details for candidates who have recently completed their law degree and are seeking to practice in India.

While the notification is expected to be released today, the official AIBE 20 (XX) 2025 exam is tentatively scheduled to be held in December 2025. This gives eligible candidates a few months to prepare for the test, which is a mandatory requirement for enrollment as an advocate with any state bar council. The registration process for the exam is also likely to open soon.

A significant change that candidates must note is the format of the examination. The AIBE 20 (XX) will be a pen-and-paper test conducted offline. It is important to remember that it is no longer an open-book exam, though candidates will be permitted to bring Bare Acts without notes into the examination hall. The test will be conducted in 11 regional languages in addition to English.

Candidates are advised to closely monitor the official BCI website for the notification and to prepare all necessary documents for the application process.
