The Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) has now issued a notification for medical and dental officers. This is after a long time that Armed Forces Medical Services has issued a notification which looks like a public notice. The Notification is for Medical and Dental officers who are sponsored by the para-military and other organisations of Government of India.
The Notification is regarding admission to postgraduate courses, including Doctor of Medicine, Master of Surgery, Diplomate of National Board, Master of Dental Surgery and others. for academic session 2026-2029 through NEET PG 2026 and NEET MD 2026 exam.
There are certain guidelines that the officers have to follow to apply for the sponsorship are provided in this notification. These candidates should meet an eligibility criteria. Loads of time, candidates who are not eligible for the sponsorship apply for it. This early notification will provide them some knowledge regarding whether they should or shouldn’t apply for the platform. The deadline for the submission of the sponsorship certificate through the official channel has also been announced. Officers shouldn’t wait for the deadline and apply much before that.
Other students should keep in mind that Armed Forces Medical Services provide postgraduate training primarily for the doctors of the Medical Services to fulfill the specialist requirement of the Medical Services.
It has been informed that the sponsorship certificates of the officers with necessary documents are consolidated and forwarded to the Directorate General of the Armed Forces Medical Services by the ministry or the Headquarter of the para-military organisation by the authority involved.
