What happens after the Final Merit List is released?

The release of the Final Merit List starts the active counselling process. Candidates need to complete the CAP Round 1 option form on the official portal. The order of preferences they choose will determine their college and course allocation. Once the provisional seat allotment is announced, candidates must accept their allocated seat online. They also need to complete document verification, report to the college, and pay the fees within the given time frame. If candidates do not finish these steps by the deadline, they might lose their allocated seat. Any seats left after CAP Round 1 will be available for the next counselling rounds. The CET Cell will release separate schedules for these later rounds. Candidates not happy with their Round 1 allotment can choose better options, provided they follow the rules.
