The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has started accepting applications for CLAT 2027.The official CLAT portal became available on August 3, 2026.

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has started accepting applications for CLAT 2027.The official CLAT portal became available on August 3, 2026. Candidates can apply online through the website consortiumofnlus.ac.in. CLAT serves as the main entrance exam for five-year integrated law programs offered by NLUs. The last date to apply is October 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM. CLAT 2027 will be conducted on Sunday, December 6, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in a single session. This year, 26 NLUs will accept CLAT 2027 scores. PwD candidates will get an extra 40 minutes, allowing them to take the exam from 2:00 PM to 4:40 PM. The exam dates and timings may change if needed.

Who is eligible to apply?

Candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent exam. General and OBC candidates must score at least 45%.SC and ST candidates are required to have a minimum of 40%. Students who will take their Class 12 exams in 2027 can also apply. There is no upper age limit for the undergraduate law program.

What documents are required for CLAT 2027 application?

Candidates need to have certain documents ready before starting the online application. Not having these documents may lead to rejection or last-minute issues.

  • A recent passport-sized color photo in JPG format.
  • A scanned signature in the required size and format.
  • A Class 10 mark sheet or birth certificate for age verification.
  • A Class 12 mark sheet or admit card for those appearing in the exam.
  • A category certificate for SC, ST, OBC, or PwD candidates.
  • A valid email address and an active mobile number for OTP verification.

How to apply for CLAT 2027?

Candidates should first visit the official website at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The registration page requires a valid mobile number and email address. An OTP will be sent to confirm the account. After logging in, candidates need to fill out the application form with all the required details. They must upload their photograph, signature, and any necessary certificates. The final step is to pay the application fee online. Payment options include net banking, debit card, credit card, and UPI. Candidates should double-check all details before submitting the form.

What happens after you submit the form?

Applicants will receive a confirmation email after submitting the form. The consortium will release the admit card a few weeks before the exam. Candidates can download the hall ticket from the same official website. Results will be declared as per the official schedule. Merit lists and counselling notifications will be posted on the consortium's website. Seat allotments will then take place through a centralized counselling process across the participating NLUs.
