All eligible candidates must report in person at their respective department on August 7, 2026. The merit list will be announced on August 10 at 2 PM. Who is eligible for the BHU PG Mop-Up Round 2026?
The mop-up round is only for a certain group of PG applicants. According to the official BHU notification, the following candidates are eligible:
- Those who had applied for BHU PG Admissions 2026-27 but were not allotted a seat
- Those who had previously cancelled or withdrawn their assigned seat
- Those who did not pay the fees after being allotted a seat in the regular or spot rounds
- Those who were on a waitlist in earlier rounds
What is the security deposit required?
All candidates must submit a security deposit of Rs 2000. This deposit must be paid via a Demand Draft. The DD should be made out to The Registrar, Banaras Hindu University and payable in Varanasi. The deposit will be returned if the candidate is allotted a seat and pays the fees. It will also be returned if no seat is assigned. However, if the candidate does not pay the fees after being allotted a seat, the deposit will be forfeited.
How to apply for the BHU PG Mop-Up Round 2026?
There is no need to register online for this round. Candidates should apply by filling out the mop-up application form and report in person at their respective department or center. The physical reporting is scheduled on August 7 from 10 AM to 4 PM. All required documents must be brought along during the visit. Candidates can apply for only one program they had previously registered for. Submitting more than one application may result in the cancellation of the candidature.
