IISc Bengaluru to Join JoSAA for B.Tech Admissions, Broadening JEE Advanced Pathways
In a landmark decision, IISc Bengaluru has officially joined the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) for its B.Tech admissions starting from the 2026 academic session. This shift allows JEE Advanced rank holders to apply for the prestigious institute directly through the centralized portal. The move simplifies the application process for students and integrates one of India's premier research institutions into the national engineering seat allocation framework. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, has announced a significant shift in its undergraduate admission policy, confirming that it will participate in the JoSAA 2026 counselling process for its B.Tech (Mathematics and Computing) program. Traditionally, IISc conducted its admissions through its own independent portal, but as of January 31, 2026, the institute has integrated its process with the Joint Seat Allocation Authority. This change is set to benefit thousands of JEE Advanced aspirants by providing a single-window interface for one of the most sought-after technical programs in the country.
