The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has issued a final reminder to VITEEE 2026 applicants as the portal enters its final month of operation. Candidates have exactly 31 days remaining to complete their registrations for the engineering entrance exam. The university has noted a steady increase in application volume as students look to secure spots in the four main campuses for the 2026-27 academic session.

Application Formalities and Eligibility

The application process is conducted entirely online, requiring candidates to provide academic details and upload a recent photograph. For the 2026 cycle, eligibility is limited to candidates born on or after July 1, 2004, as per the official university guidelines.

  • The registration fee of Rs 1,350 must be paid through net banking or credit/debit cards before the March 31 midnight deadline.
  • Candidates are advised to verify their Class 12 aggregate percentages, as a minimum of 60% in PCM/PCB is required for the VIT general category.
  • The university has emphasized that no extensions will be provided beyond the March cutoff to ensure the timely start of the slot booking phase.

Examination Format and Slot Booking

The VITEEE 2026 is a 150-minute computer-based test featuring sections on Maths/Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Aptitude, and English. Following the closure of the application window, the university will open the Online Test Booking System (OTBS) in early April.

  • Successful applicants will be able to choose their preferred exam date and venue from the available slots on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Mock tests are currently available on the official VIT portal to help candidates familiarize themselves with the exam interface.
