The Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) declared the TS LAWCET and TS PGLCET 2026 results today, June 4, at 4:00 PM on the official portal lawcet.tgche.ac.in. Candidates who appeared for the Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test, held on May 18, can now log in using their hall ticket number, registration number and date of birth to access and download their rank cards.
What the Rank Card Contains
The TS LAWCET 2026 rank card carries all key details candidates will need for the admission process. These include the candidate's name and registered photograph, roll number and application number, hall ticket number, category reservation group, total raw marks secured out of 120, normalised exam score, state-wide merit rank and qualifying status. Candidates are advised to carefully verify all details on the rank card and immediately flag any discrepancies to the examination authority before counselling begins.
Qualifying Marks
General and OBC category candidates must secure a minimum of 35 percent, which equals 42 marks out of 120, to be declared qualified. There is no minimum qualifying mark requirement for SC and ST category candidates. Results have been prepared on the basis of the final answer key.
Tie-Breaking Rules
In cases where two or more candidates secure equal marks, TGCHE applies a three-step tie-breaking process. Higher marks in Part C are given first preference, followed by higher marks in Part B. If the tie still persists, the older candidate is given priority.
Seat Intake Across Programs
A total of 9,690 seats are available across law programs through TS LAWCET 2026 counselling. The 3-year LLB program has 6,060 seats, the 5-year LLB program has 2,580 seats, and LLM programs account for 1,050 seats across participating colleges in Telangana.
Expected Cutoffs and Top Colleges
For the 3-year LLB OU region, University College of Law, Osmania University, Hyderabad, is expected to have a closing rank of around 34 in the open category, making it one of the most competitive institutions. University College of Law, Kakatiya University, Warangal, is expected to close around rank 248. For the 5-year LLB program, Osmania University's BA LLB course is expected to close near rank 35.
What Comes Next: Counselling Process
Following the result declaration, TGCHE will release the TS LAWCET 2026 counselling schedule. Qualified candidates will need to complete online registration, pay the counselling fee, undergo certificate verification and submit web options for their preferred colleges and courses. Seat allotment will be based on rank, reservation category, local area status and seat availability.
