The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has officially started the WBJEE 2025 counselling process. This crucial phase is for all eligible candidates aiming for engineering and technology colleges across West Bengal. The entire process, including registration, fee payment, and choice filling, is being conducted online. To ensure a seamless experience, aspirants must stay informed of all the important dates and follow the steps meticulously.

Key Dates and Deadlines

It is vital to adhere to the schedule to avoid missing out on your chance for a seat.

  • Registration and Choice Filling Start: The portal for online registration and choice filling opened on August 28, 2025.
  • Final Date: The last date to complete your registration, pay the fee, and submit your choices is September 1, 2025. On this day, you will also have a final opportunity to edit or lock your choices. Once locked, no further changes can be made.
  • Seat Allotment (Round 1): The first round of seat allotment results is scheduled to be published on September 3, 2025.
  • Seat Allotment (Round 2): The second round of seat allotment will be announced on September 9, 2025.

Step-by-Step Guide to the Counselling Process

The WBJEEB has outlined a clear procedure for counselling that all candidates must follow.

  1. Registration: The first step is to register on the official WBJEEB website. You will need to provide personal, academic, and contact details. This is also where you will enter your bank account information for potential refunds of the admission fee.
  2. Payment: Pay the mandatory counselling registration fee online.
  3. Choice Filling: This is arguably the most critical step. Based on your rank, you should fill in your preferred colleges and courses. The authority advises candidates to select a minimum of 20 choices to increase their chances of securing a seat in a good college. You can select a variety of options to ensure you have multiple opportunities.
  4. Choice Locking: After filling in your choices, you must lock them by the deadline of September 1, 2025. Remember, your choices will be automatically locked after this date if you fail to do so manually.

It's highly recommended that you take your time to research and rank your preferences carefully before finalizing your choices. For regular updates and detailed guides on engineering exams and admissions, follow Only Education News.
