The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially declared the results of the Combined Medical Services Examination (CMS) 2025, bringing an end to the wait for thousands of aspirants. The results of the computer-based written exam, which was held on July 20, 2025, are now available on the official UPSC website.

A total of 707 vacancies for various posts in Category 1 and 2 are to be filled through this recruitment drive. Candidates who have successfully cleared the written stage are now eligible to appear for the final and crucial stage of the selection process: the Personality Test. The official notice released by UPSC indicates that the roll numbers of the qualified candidates are available in a downloadable PDF format. A candidate's result may be withheld in certain cases, with one such instance already noted due to a court case.

Next Steps: The Personality Test

The Personality Test, or interview, is a vital component of the selection process, carrying 100 marks out of the total 600. The UPSC has tentatively scheduled the interviews for October-November 2025. This stage assesses a candidate's overall suitability for the medical services role, evaluating their communication skills, critical thinking, social cohesion, and intellectual curiosity. It is not just a test of medical knowledge but also of character and professional demeanor. No request for a change in the date and time of the interview will be entertained.

Mandatory Documents for the Interview

Candidates who are shortlisted for the interview must be prepared to submit several key documents for verification. It is essential to have these ready to avoid any last-minute stress. The list of required documents typically includes:

  • UPSC Interview Call Letter.
  • Valid Photo ID Proof (e.g., Aadhaar Card, Passport).
  • High School Marksheet (for date of birth verification).
  • MBBS Degree Certificate and Marksheets.
  • Caste/Disability Certificates (if applicable).
  • Experience Certificates (if applicable).
  • Recent passport-sized photographs.
