Over 9,400 new B.Tech seats have been added in Telangana, bringing the total to over 1.16 lakh. With over 30,000 seats vacant, the final phase of EAPCET counselling begins on August 5.

In a significant boost for engineering aspirants, the Telangana government has announced a massive increase in the number of engineering seats for the 2025-26 academic year. An additional 9,433 seats have been sanctioned across various colleges, raising the total number of B.Tech seats to 1,16,877. This surge, combined with seats remaining vacant after the second phase, has resulted in over 30,000 seats being available for the upcoming final phase of EAPCET counselling.

This development is expected to significantly ease competition and lower cut-offs, providing more opportunities for students to secure admission to their preferred colleges and courses. The increase is a direct response to the growing demand for technical education and the need for skilled professionals in the state's expanding IT and technology sectors.

Focus on New-Age Courses:

A notable aspect of this seat increase is the emphasis on modern, in-demand specializations. A large portion of the new seats have been allocated to emerging courses, particularly within the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) domain. New branches such as Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Data Science, and Cybersecurity have seen a substantial increase in their intake capacity. This reflects the government's commitment to aligning technical education with contemporary industry requirements.

For aspirants looking to pursue careers in these fields, the addition of thousands of new seats provides a significant advantage. It is a clear signal that the state is prioritizing a future-ready workforce and is investing in specialized education to support it.

Next Steps for Aspirants:

With the second phase of counselling concluding today, all attention now turns to the final phase, which is scheduled to begin on August 5, 2025. Candidates who were not allotted a seat in the previous rounds or are looking to change their college now have a golden opportunity.

  • Registration and Slot Booking: The process for the final phase begins on August 5.
  • Web Options Entry: The window for submitting fresh choices will open from August 6 to August 7.
  • Final Seat Allotment: The provisional allotment result for this phase will be declared on or before August 10.

Aspirants are strongly advised to carefully review the updated seat matrix, which will be released on the official website, eapcet.tgche.ac.in, before filling their choices. Given the large number of available seats, exercising a wide range of options is recommended to secure a spot.
