NLP Concept Illustration

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) is a crucial examination for medical graduates aiming to pursue postgraduate programs like MD, MS, and PG Diplomas in India. Conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), NEET PG 2025 has specific eligibility criteria that candidates must meet to participate. This article outlines these requirements to guide aspirants effectively.

Academic Qualifications

MBBS Degree: Candidates must hold an MBBS degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Foreign Medical Graduates: Those who obtained their primary medical qualifications outside India must have cleared the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) conducted by NBEMS to be eligible for NEET PG 2025.

Internship Requirements

Mandatory Internship: Applicants are required to complete a one-year rotating internship. For NEET PG 2025, the internship must be finished by July 31, 2025.

Documentation: Candidates must provide an original internship completion certificate specifying the start and end dates of the internship program.

Age Limit and Number of Attempts

Age Criteria: There is no upper or lower age limit for NEET PG 2025, allowing candidates of all ages who meet other eligibility criteria to apply.

Attempt Limit: The exam imposes no restrictions on the number of attempts, enabling candidates to appear multiple times to improve their scores.

Domicile Considerations

State Quota Eligibility: Applicants from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Jammu & Kashmir are typically ineligible for the All India 50% quota seats. However, exceptions exist for those admitted to government medical colleges through centralized counseling.

Affidavit Submission: Candidates from these states must submit a signed affidavit confirming their admission through centralized counseling, along with the NEET PG application acknowledgment, to the Deputy Director (Exams) at NBEMS.

Conclusion

Understanding the eligibility criteria for NEET PG 2025 is vital for aspirants planning to advance their medical careers. Ensuring compliance with academic qualifications, internship completion, and other specified requirements will facilitate a smooth application process. Candidates are advised to consult the official NBEMS website for the most current information and updates.
