MAHE is currently accepting MET 2026 Phase 1 applications until March 15, 2026. With a strict "no correction window" policy, Manipal University advises candidates to verify all personal and academic details carefully before final submission. Discover key instructions to avoid application rejection.

The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) is currently processing Phase 1 applications for the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) 2026. As the registration window enters its mid-cycle phase, university authorities have issued a public advisory urging aspirants to exercise extreme caution while filling out their online forms. The warning comes in light of the institution's stringent policy regarding data accuracy and the general absence of a post-submission correction facility.

The MET 2026 is the gateway to diverse undergraduate programs, most notably the B.Tech courses at MIT Manipal, MIT Bengaluru, and Manipal University Jaipur. With over a lakh students expected to compete, even minor clerical errors in the application can lead to significant complications during the admission and counseling stages.

Key Timeline and Form Verification Essentials

While the final deadline is still several months away, the university emphasizes that "early and accurate" submission is the best strategy to secure a preferred test slot.

  • Phase 1 Application Deadline: March 15, 2026.
  • Phase 2 Application (Tentative): April 2026.
  • Correction Facility: None. Candidates are advised to use the "Review" button before the final payment.
  • Slot Booking (OTBS): Expected in early April 2026.

Critical Areas for Verification:

  1. Name & Date of Birth: These must exactly match the candidate's Class 10 Certificate. Discrepancies here can lead to disqualification at the exam center.
  2. Contact Details: Ensure the mobile number and email ID are active, as all future communications, including the OTBS Password, will be sent to these.
  3. Category Selection: Candidates must carefully choose between General and Foreign/NRI categories, as this cannot be changed later and affects the fee structure.
  4. Upload Specifications: Photographs must be recent, against a white background, and signatures must be clearly legible on white paper.

Why Accuracy is Non-Negotiable

Unlike many other national exams, MAHE typically does not provide a correction window. Once the application fee is paid and the "Submit" button is clicked, the data is locked into the university's database.

Official Advisory: "Candidates are deemed to have read and understood the eligibility requirements. Any false information or discrepancies found during active verification at the time of counseling or orientation will result in the immediate cancellation of admission, regardless of the entrance score."

If a candidate discovers a major error after submission, they are often required to register again with a new email ID and pay the fee a second time, as the previous application cannot be edited.

Required Documents Checklist

Before sitting down to fill the form, candidates should have the following digital assets ready to ensure a one-time, error-free process:

  • Academic Proofs: Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets (or roll number/predicted grades for appearing students).
  • ID Proof: Scanned copy of Aadhaar Card, Passport, or PAN Card.
  • Photo: JPG/JPEG format, size between 10 KB to 200 KB.
  • Signature: JPG/JPEG format, size between 10 KB to 200 KB.
  • Payment Info: Credit/Debit card or Net Banking details for the ₹2,000 fee.

Looking Ahead: Slot Booking (OTBS)

The accuracy of your application directly impacts your ability to book an exam slot. The Online Test Booking System (OTBS) password is typically the candidate's Date of Birth (DDMMYYYY). If the DOB is entered incorrectly in the application, the candidate will be unable to log in to book their preferred date and center in April.

Conclusion

As the MET 2026 Phase 1 registration continues toward the March 15 cutoff, the message from Manipal University is clear: Review before you remit. Taking an extra five minutes to verify spellings and document clarity can prevent the stress of a rejected application or the cost of a re-registration. For any technical difficulties during the application process, candidates should contact the MAHE admission office at admissions@manipal.edu immediately.
