The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, is continuing its state-intake process for the Maharashtra MBA Common Entrance Test (MMS-Entrance) 2026. As of today, January 20, 2026, the online application portal remains fully operational for candidates seeking admission to MBA and MMS programs across the state. Following the trend of national-level competitive exams, the authorities have officially introduced a two-session model this year, allowing students to appear for either one or both attempts to improve their final scores for the cap-rounds.

Registration Timeline and Session Details

The MMS-Entrance authorities have established a clear schedule to help candidates plan their test-attempts effectively.

  • Final Deadline: The window for the state-intake registration is set to close on February 12, 2026.
  • Session 1 Schedule: The first attempt is slated to take place between April 6 and April 8, 2026, across multiple centers in Maharashtra and major Indian cities.
  • Session 2 Schedule: For the first time, a second test-attempts window will be available on May 9, 2026, providing a buffer for students who wish to raise their percentiles.
  • Admit Card Issuance: Hall tickets for the registered candidates are expected to be released by the third week of March 2026 through the candidate login portal.

Eligibility Criteria and Mandatory Requirements

To participate in the 2026 state-intake, applicants must fulfill the specific academic and administrative criteria-norms mandated by the State CET Cell.

  • Educational Background: Candidates must possess a three-year bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved categories and PwD candidates from Maharashtra).
  • APAAR ID Requirement: A new mandatory rule for the 2026 cycle requires every student to generate and provide an APAAR ID (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry) during the cap-rounds registration phase.
  • Identity Verification: Submission of a valid Aadhaar number is compulsory for all registrants to ensure a secure and authenticated enrollment process.
  • Final Year Students: Those currently in the final year of their graduation are eligible to apply, provided they meet the criteria-norms at the time of final admission.

Exam Pattern and Application Fee Structure

The MMS-Entrance remains a 150-minute computer-based test with 200 multiple-choice questions and no negative marking.

CategoryFee for One AttemptFee for Both Attempts
General / OMS / EWS₹1,200₹2,400
Reserved (SC/ST/OBC/VJ-DT/NT)₹1,000₹2,000
PwD (Maharashtra)₹1,000₹2,000
  • Sectional Weightage: The test is divided into Logical Reasoning (75 questions), Abstract Reasoning (25), Quantitative Aptitude (50), and Verbal Ability (50).
  • Payment Protocols: All fees must be settled online; applications are not considered valid until the transaction is successfully recorded in the system.
  • Normalization Process: For students choosing multiple test-attempts, the highest percentile achieved will be considered for the merit list during the cap-rounds.

Conclusion

As the February 12 deadline approaches, the State CET Cell has advised all aspirants to complete their state-intake profiles as soon as possible. With the introduction of the dual-session format, the competition for seats in top institutes like JBIMS and SIMSREE is expected to be intense. Candidates should ensure they meet all criteria-norms, specifically the new digital ID requirements, to avoid any last-minute hurdles. Selecting both test-attempts at this stage is a common strategy being utilized by students to maximize their chances of securing a high-percentile score for the 2026-27 academic session.
