Today marks a crucial deadline for thousands of MBA and MMS aspirants in Maharashtra, as the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, concludes the online submission and confirmation of the Option Form for CAP (Centralized Admission Process) Round 2. The deadline to submit these forms is August 7, 2025. This is a last-call for candidates who are seeking to upgrade their seats from Round 1 or are applying for a seat for the first time in this round.

The Centralized Admission Process (CAP) is a multi-stage process for admission to various management programs offered by over 300 institutes across the state, including top colleges like JBIMS, Sydenham, and PUMBA. This Round 2 is especially significant because it is the second of a limited number of rounds, and the number of available seats is typically lower than in the first round.

The Critical CAP Round 2 Process

The CAP Round 2 is designed for candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Fresh Applicants: Candidates who have verified their documents and are participating in the counselling for the first time.
  • Upgradation Seekers: Candidates who were allotted a seat in Round 1 and chose the "Float" option. They can now fill new options to secure a better-preferred college.
  • No Allotment Candidates: Aspirants who did not get a seat in the first round.

To participate, candidates must log in to the official MAH MBA CET portal. They must carefully fill out their option form by arranging their preferred colleges and courses in a specific, ranked order. The system will then process these choices against the provisional vacant seat matrix for Round 2, which was released on August 5, 2025. It is strongly advised that candidates fill a wide range of options to maximize their chances of securing a seat.

Important Dates and What Comes Next

The State CET Cell has a stringent timeline for the remaining activities of CAP Round 2:

  • Online Submission and Confirmation of Option Form: Today, August 7, 2025, is the final day. Candidates must ensure they complete this step by the end of the day.
  • Display of Provisional Allotment: The provisional seat allotment for CAP Round 2 is scheduled to be displayed on August 11, 2025.
  • Acceptance and Reporting: Candidates who are allotted a seat for the first time in this round must accept the seat online between August 12 and August 14, 2025. This is followed by physical reporting to the allotted institute for document verification and fee payment. Candidates who get an upgraded seat must follow the same process.

It is crucial for candidates to have all their original documents ready for the physical reporting process. These include the MAH MBA CET Scorecard, educational mark sheets and certificates, domicile certificate, and other reservation-related documents (if applicable).

Aspirants are reminded that once the option form is locked today, no further changes will be possible for this round. Therefore, they should double-check their choices against the vacant seats before the deadline. The State CET Cell has made it clear that those who fail to report to their allotted institute within the stipulated timeframe will lose their seat and be ineligible for the next round of counselling.
